Oklahoma recently acknowledged Lauren Von, CEO, and founder of Quintessa Marketing, as one of its Most Admired CEOs, honoring her for her dedication to advancing diversity in the workforce and fostering a healthy workplace culture. Lauren, along with 38 other Oklahomans, was recognized for her contributions to equal opportunity initiatives.

The Importance of Female Entrepreneurs

This acknowledgment comes as a reminder of the significance of women entrepreneurs and women leadership in the current economy. Women entrepreneurs contribute significantly to economic growth, job creation, and innovation. According to a report by the National Women’s Business Council, female entrepreneurs are more likely to launch businesses out of necessity rather than opportunity, limiting their potential for growth and profitability.

Barriers to Success

Despite women accounting for 42% of all entrepreneurs in the United States, they still face significant barriers to success, including access to capital, mentorship, and networking opportunities. They are also less likely to secure funding from venture capitalists and angel investors compared to male entrepreneurs.

Hope for the future

However, there is hope on the horizon, as more women are stepping up and breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship. Female-led businesses are growing at a faster rate than male-led businesses, and more women are stepping into leadership roles across industries.

The Importance of Recognizing Women Leaders

Lauren Von’s recognition as one of Oklahoma’s Most Admired CEOs is a testament to the progress being made towards gender equality in the workplace. As the CEO of Quintessa Marketing, she has not only established a successful business but also prioritized initiatives that support her employees’ wellbeing, such as the Childcare Reimbursement program.

The Value of Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

More companies need to prioritize initiatives that support their employees, particularly women, in order to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Studies show that companies with diverse leadership teams outperform those without, demonstrating the value of promoting women’s leadership in the workplace.

Acknowledging and honoring women entrepreneurs and leaders is critical for fostering a culture of gender equality in the workplace. We need more women like Lauren Von, who are breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations of female entrepreneurs and leaders.
